Recently remodelled but retaining character and charm, The Red Lion public house stands opposite the lovely old Church of St Mary the Virgin in the picturesque Essex village of Steeple Bumpstead.

Greene King IPA is the resident cask ale, joined by regularly changing guest beers and a selection of wines. These can be enjoyed at the bar or in our large beer garden, with free bouncy castle for the children in the summer months.  

The Red Lion restaurant can seat up to 60 people to enjoy traditional pub snacks, à la carte menu and traditional Sunday lunch with a choice of four roasts and vegetarians options.

We can also offer bed and breakfast accommodation with a variety of rooms to choose from. Available for short or long term bookings.
